Oda Tungodden is a Norwegian painter based between Bergen, Norway, and Cape Town, South Africa. With a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Bergen and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cape Town's Michaelis School of Fine Art, her work is concerned with exploring the intricate web of factors that shape our perceptions and narratives.
While rooted in figuration, her painterly work extends beyond traditional boundaries, incorporating spatial and relational practices. At the core Tungodden’s work is an exploration of the human experience. Through her artistic practice, she aims to create spaces for meaningful conversations, fostering empathy and connections within individuals and between people. Tungodden is interested in engaging conversations across different cultural and geographical boundaries.
